Sage In The Cloud

Sage has confirmed they are on track to launch Sage 200 as a cloud based offering, in April 2013. This will be a subscription based product which will cover the cost of software licenses and the server infrastructure.

Business Partners will still provide the implementation and support services and customers will use their own PC’s to access the system.

The cloud system – to be called Azure – signals a move away from “on premise” technology – but it is likely to be many years before revenues generated by cloud based systems catch up with the traditional “server in a cupboard” approach.

Pentyme is prepared for the change given that the company has been offering “hosted” systems for many years – which is effectively what cloud technology is all about.
